For example, if you want mark all older episodes as played, you have to first hit the 'select' button. You then have to select one episode to get the 'select all' button to appear. What don't the selection options appear the moment that you hit the 'select' button? It doesn't make any sense. Why can't I just right-click or long-press and episode and have a 'mark older episodes as played' option? I still would like an 'Autoplay' switch for continuous play. Version 2.4.5.0 is the Best Podcast app on Windows as of 11/5/2016. Works well for listening in standby. Interface is OK. Easy to find podcasts.You can even watch video podcasts (I use it to sync to the 'watch later' YouTube playlist!)The bad:The app does not respond to the default keyboard media controls (skip forward/skip backward).
I often want to skip back because I missed something, and have to open the laptop, unlock, and use the trackpad to hit a tiny button, instead of just hitting the 'back' control of my headphones!The app does not download new episodes automatically in background, you have to start the app.Adding downloaded episodes automatically to playlist would be nice, when I manually download them.When clik on the new episode notifications, should open the corresponding podcast, so that I can play the episode.Dev doesn't seem very active, though. Submitted on 3/14/2019 Review title of WilliamLimited FunctionalityThe good news is that you can access and listen to podcasts with this app, but that is about all it is good for. If you are a regular listener, this app provides almost no help keeping track of what you have played.
First, the app does not update with new episodes of subscribed apps unless you shut it down and restart it. Even a refresh does not cause it to update. Second, while you can add episodes to the playlist, there is no indication on the subscription list that you have done so. So if you are away a few days and want to add all new episodes to your playlist, you end up clicking back and forth between the playlist and subscription screens to check which ones you need to add, and then going and doing it.
Third, there is no option to automatically remove played episodes from the playlist and there is no indication that they have been played, so you don't know how to start where you left off. Submitted on 8/15/2019 Review title of DEXACTLY what I was looking forI get most of my podcast listening in from my iPhone or iPad but when I'm on my laptop I feel as though I'm missing out! I don't want to go through apples authentication process and log into iTunes etc. I just want an easy way to listen to podcasts. This is the answer!! Its great and has a really nice and smooth interface.Actually I think it is more organized than Apples.

Personally I cannot stand iTunes and all of it's clunky interface and pointless options. What Grover does is make it about the meat and potatoes of podcast listening. So why not 5 out of 5 stars? Because of their playlist options or lack their of. From what I've experienced (unless I missed something) You can't make more than one playlist. And the biggest annoyance of all is somehow whenever I've made a playlist of episodes I want to listen to and lets say I pause the playlist and want to hear something that isn't on the playlist, with the intention of going back and listening where I left off.
Somehow my entire playlist gets deleted and whatever podcast I listened to takes the place of the playlist forcing me to remake it from scratch. It's annoying enough and should be an easy fix. Aside from that hiccup. Great program.Oh and 1 other thing, I havent found a way to add premium podcasts.In my opinion Podcast Addict is still best.
